Eating a meal by yourself is a chance to truly practice mindful eating. Eating mindfully will improve your digestion in addition to many other benefits including increased satiety, energy, and joy.

How to make eating alone a positive and blissful experience:

  • Add fresh flowers to your table.

  • Sit down to eat.

  • Feel gratitude for your food and the journey it went on to get to your plate.

  • Create attractive and beautiful meals.

  • Pause often to take slow deep breaths.

  • Engage all your senses.

Digestion tip: Eat your smoothie in a bowl! Did you know that digestion actually begins in our mouth? Your saliva contains digestive enzymes that get released when you chew. When you eat your smoothie in a bowl, taking time to actually chew it, you are helping the digestion process get started. 

Try it with my balanced smoothie or your favorite smoothie combo! Add some seeds, coconut, or granola for a little crunch.
