BERRY CHIA JAM

Strawberry Sauce (no added sugar, paleo, low fodmap, vegan) emilykwellness.com

A homemade, 2 ingredient jam, made in minutes, without any fussy canning or added sugars.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries and/or strawberries

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional if you like your jam a little tart)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional if you like your jam very sweet)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan heat berries on medium heat. Stir frequently.

  • When berries are heated through and begin to breakdown, mash them up with a fork or potato masher.

  • Once your desired consistency is reached (I like mine a little chunky), stir in chia seeds (and lemon juice if using).

  • Remove from heat, let cool for a few minutes, stir and serve! Refrigerate in an airtight container for 1 week.
